With a vibrant and energetic personality, Lorenzo Castillo embodies the unique and sought-after approach within the realm of interior design. His philosophy of blending "classic style with a modern language" creates a distinctive fusion of flamboyant elements and antiques, becoming a hallmark of his signature style. This approach not only reflects his deep appreciation for history but also his ability to bring timeless elegance into contemporary spaces.

Lorenzo Castillo, based in Madrid, has a rich academic background, having studied Art History at the Complutense University of Madrid, Art and Antiques at the Antique School of Madrid, Silverware and Jewelry at the Museum Fine Arts in Boston, and History of American Art at Columbia University in New York. However, his journey into interior design began 26 years ago when he opened an antique shop in central Madrid. Antiques have always been his first love—predating his career in interior design—and remain a significant part of his design philosophy today.
The modern antique dealer, who has been featured on Elle Decor USA’s A-List and the AD 100, embarked on his interior design journey when clients began asking him to design their spaces. This marked the beginning of his rise to prominence as one of the most notable designers globally. Castillo’s disregard for design trends and his passion for antiques have allowed him to craft unique concepts that layer various styles and periods, creating environments that are both eclectic and cohesive.

One of his most impressive and renowned interior design projects is his private residence in Madrid, a 17th-century palace that he transformed after it served as a convent and theatrical store. As one of Spain’s leading interior designers, Castillo infuses his projects with a distinctly Spanish sensibility, creating spaces that are both timeless and modern.
