Ball announced that its PET bottle designed for Artisan Wine Company's 750mL Painted Turtle wine has won two sustainable packaging awards. They are the “Best Environmental Protection Choice Show Award†from a Canadian packaging magazine and the bronze award for international brand packaging. The awards were jointly awarded by the Canadian Packaging Association and Wal-Mart in recognition of packaging companies that have contributed to environmental protection.
According to the award-winning standards, Ball's PET bottles lead the future of wine packaging—using lighter and more sustainable containers than glass. At the same time, beautiful labels are more attractive to consumers. The bottle is 100% recyclable and the 750mL bottle weighs only 54 grams. The bottle is manufactured by SIG PLASMAX. The interior of the bottle is coated with a barrier layer of silicone oil, which not only effectively protects the quality of the wine, but also facilitates separation during bottle recycling.
