Prada, a renowned name in the world of luxury fashion, was established in 1913 in Milan by Mario Prada as a high-end leather goods company. However, it wasn't until Miuccia Prada took the helm in 1978 that the brand began to make a significant impact on the global fashion scene. Today, Prada continues to innovate and inspire with initiatives like "Frames," a multidisciplinary symposium exploring the deep relationship between nature and design. Curated by Formafantasma, a research and design studio based in Milan and Rotterdam, "Frames" brings together diverse perspectives on the historical, political, and social dimensions of design. The event, held from June 6th to 8th at the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense in Milan, featured six discussion sessions focused on themes such as contextualizing, narrating, designing, perceiving, controlling, and living. One of the highlights of the symposium was the visual identity created by Formafantasma, which involved altering a Lidar scan of an oak forest. This technology, often used in forestry and mapping, was repurposed here to create a digital representation that challenges our perception of the natural world. The goal was to explore beyond the visible, encouraging deeper understanding of the complex interactions between design and the environment.

Miuccia Prada's early success came with the introduction of a black nylon bag featuring a silver triangle logo. Her innovative designs quickly captured the attention of fashion enthusiasts across Europe, America, and Japan. Alongside her husband Patrizio Bertelli, she has maintained a strong grip on the company, launching the ready-to-wear line in 1989 and the more affordable Miu Miu collection in 1992. The Prada Sport line, known for its signature red stripe, has also gained widespread recognition. The brand has expanded through strategic collaborations and architectural partnerships, including those with Rem Koolhaas, leading to iconic store locations in Paris, New York, and San Francisco. In the late 1990s, Prada engaged in various business maneuvers, acquiring and selling shares in companies like Gucci and Fendi, and forming a notable collaboration with Azzedine Alaïa in 2000. Prada's aesthetic is often described as a blend of traditional and unconventional elements, characterized by a techno-retro style. As Miuccia once said, “I make ugly clothes from ugly material. Simply bad taste. But they end up looking good anyway.” This philosophy reflects the brand’s ability to transform the mundane into something extraordinary.

Designed to decay over time, this project reflects the brand's commitment to artistic expression and conceptual thinking.
