In the heart of Florence, Italy, where art, history, and design converge, lies a stunning example of modern hotel interior design. Covet House is excited to present the Milu Hotel, a contemporary retreat that beautifully blends classic Italian hospitality with a fresh, minimalist aesthetic.
Designed by Studio Do in collaboration with architect David Ohayon, the Milu Hotel is nestled within the fashion and design district of Florence, making it a perfect destination for travelers seeking both style and sophistication. The hotel recently opened and has already received rave reviews for its elegant and thoughtfully curated spaces.
Originally built in the 1400s, the property was once home to Florence’s elite aristocracy and was known as Palazzo Altoviti-Sangalletti. In 1835, it was renovated by artist and architect Giovan Battista Silvestri, who connected it with the adjacent Palazzo Gerard-Uguccioni. The exterior remains a testament to Florentine grandeur, with large stone slabs and symmetrical arched windows that reflect its rich history.
Inside, the Milu Hotel offers 22 stylish rooms that embody understated luxury. Each space is designed with attention to detail, featuring bold Missoni pillows, Gubi seating, and Venetian gold, Murano glass, and Italian black marble that pay homage to traditional Italian craftsmanship. The hotel spans five floors connected by a preserved 19th-century grand staircase, offering a seamless blend of old-world charm and modern comfort.
The hotel also features an open gallery on the second floor, showcasing rotating exhibitions by international artists such as Maya Gelfner, Galia Gur Ziv, and Carmel Ilan. A video installation by Ronen Sharabani currently graces the space, and guests can even purchase artwork to take a piece of Florence home with them.
Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, the Milu Hotel promises a unique experience that celebrates both design and tradition. From the carefully selected artworks to the luxurious interiors, every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
