In the past, the OCPP series of Bluetooth printers didn’t support barcode printing. However, as barcodes and QR codes became more widely used, we updated our printers to include this functionality. Now, some of our Bluetooth printers offer the ability to print QR codes directly through specific commands.
Printing a QR code typically involves sending a custom command sequence to the printer. Here’s how it works:
The command format is generally as follows:
**Hex: 1F 1C mn nL 00 d1 d2 d3 ... dk**
- **1F 1C** is a fixed header that tells the printer to prepare for a QR code.
- **m** represents the QR code size, with values ranging from 0 to 9.
- **n** indicates the error correction level, which can be 0 to 4.
- **nL** specifies the number of data characters to be printed.
- **d1 to dk** are the actual data bytes that make up the content of the QR code.
For example, if you want to print a QR code containing the text "OCOM", the command would look like this:
**1F 1C 08 03 04 00 4F 43 4F 4D**
Here’s a breakdown of the example:
- **1F 1C**: QR code command start.
- **08**: QR code size (value m).
- **03**: Error correction level (value n).
