The system is designed with integrated movement and control circuits inside a sealed container, where the desiccant material absorbs moisture from the items placed inside. Since water exists in a molecular form, it constantly evaporates and spreads across the surface of the materials. The desiccant gradually captures these molecules, maintaining a stable humidity level within the container. When the desiccant reaches equilibrium, the moisture content stabilizes, and no further transfer occurs between the material and the air.
To regenerate the desiccant, the system closes the moisture absorption door and opens the vapor diffusion door. The saturated desiccant is heated, allowing the moisture to evaporate and be released outside the cabinet. This regeneration process enables the desiccant to continue absorbing moisture, maintaining a consistent drying environment. Due to its compact design, low desiccant usage, and automated operation, the system requires minimal user intervention once activated.
The HUMGINE moisture-proof cabinet system uses a microcontroller as its core, converting humidity readings into voltage signals via a capacitive polymer sensor. These signals are processed through A/D conversion and displayed on the interface. The system automatically controls the opening and closing of the moisture intake and discharge doors using shape memory alloy springs. When the humidity reaches a set point, the microcontroller triggers a pulse current to heat the alloy spring, causing it to change shape and control the valves accordingly. This cycle repeats, ensuring continuous and efficient dehumidification.
The system comprises three main components: the polymer humidity sensor, the temperature-controlled shape memory alloy spring, and the hardware circuitry. The shape memory alloy, made of NiTi, changes shape based on temperature, enabling precise control over the valve operations. The hardware includes a humidity sensor, signal conditioning circuits, and a microcontroller for data processing and display.
The polymer humidity sensor used in the system is highly reliable, offering fast response times, low hysteresis, and long-term stability. It is made from cellulose acetate butyrate, which provides linear sensitivity across a wide humidity range and is unaffected by other gases.
