Normally, the suction door is open, and the wet door is closed. When the desiccant becomes saturated, the system detects this through humidity readings. If the measured humidity differs from the set value, the microcontroller generates a trigger signal to activate a pulse current circuit, heating the memory alloy spring. This causes the spring to contract, closing the suction door and opening the wet door to release moisture. After a set time, the system cools down, restoring the spring to its original state, and the cycle repeats.
The system consists of three main components: the polymer humidity sensor, the automatic temperature-controlled shape memory alloy spring, and the hardware implementation circuit. The memory alloy spring, made of NiTi (nickel-titanium), undergoes shape changes based on temperature. It controls the opening and closing of the doors during different operational phases. The hardware includes a humidity sensor, voltage converter, A/D converter, microcontroller, and drive circuit for the spring.
