(1) Laser Ceramic Engraving Technology

1. Introduction

In the laser etching technology, firstly, the surface of the plate base (copper plating roller) is thoroughly degreasing and then uniformly coated with a layer of black rubber. The thickness of the adhesive layer may be determined according to different process requirements. Next, the imposition work station converts the documents produced by the prepress process into engraving data, and the laser directly burns the adhesive layer on the surface of the printing plate to form dots. After the engraving is completed, the etching is performed using an etching solution. The dots on the black adhesive layer are etched to form a network hole. The non-dot portions are protected from corrosion due to the adhesive layer.

2. The difference from ordinary electronic engraving process

The common electronic engraving process is the imposition workstation to control the surface of the rotary cylinder which is impacted by the high-speed oscillation of the electronic engraving head with a diamond engraving needle to form a net hole (the impact once forms a net hole). Laser engraving burns the surface of the plate base with a very small laser beam to form a net cavity (burning forms a cell multiple times). (3) The depth of the cell depth is different. The deepest depth of the electronic engraving network is 0.06 ~ 0.07mm; the depth of the laser engraving network can reach 0.25mm or more.

(4) The dot shape is different. The shape of the dots produced by the electronic engraving version is relatively single, and the dot shapes of the laser engraving can be edited by any of the shape dots, except for the random square dots, circular dots, oval dots, hexagon dots, and line dots. According to different manuscripts, different dot shapes are selected in a targeted manner so as to formulate an appropriate engraving process.

(5) The network volume is different. The electronically-engraved cell site is V-shaped, and the laser-engraved cell site is U-shaped, so its volume, ink storage, and ink loading are all greater, and the transfer effect is also better.

(6) Different word processing methods. Laser engraving can perform edge processing on text, and electronic engraving cannot do this.
