The outdoor industry continues to thrive, and the 2015 European Outdoor Show is set to reaffirm its status as a leading global event in the sector. Running from July 15th (Wednesday) to July 18th (Saturday), the exhibition will showcase cutting-edge products and innovations from over 900 exhibitors across 40 countries. This year’s edition introduces two new areas: a dedicated retail zone and a trend release area, offering fresh opportunities for engagement and discovery. All twelve exhibition halls at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre, along with open-air venues, will be fully utilized. Notably, Hall A1 has been reconfigured from a tent area into a traditional exhibition hall to accommodate growing demand for expanded space.
As the show approaches its 22nd edition, it has grown significantly over the years, attracting more than 20,000 professional visitors. The 2015 event covers every aspect of the outdoor industry, from clothing and footwear to gear, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, and climbing equipment. Klaus Wellmann, CEO of Frederikshavn GmbH, expressed his excitement: “We are excited for the 2015 European Outdoor Show, which promises to be the best yet. With an exhibition space exceeding 85,000 square meters, we are ready to welcome brands and professionals from all corners of the outdoor industry.â€
Mark Held, Secretary General of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), also shared his confidence: “The European outdoor market is evolving rapidly, with increasing competition driving innovation. At the same time, exhibitions are becoming more diverse, incorporating family-friendly, health-oriented, and urban-focused events that blend outdoor activities with lifestyle. This year, brands and dealers will gather to exchange ideas, spark collaboration, and explore new market opportunities.â€
This year’s exhibition features a redesigned layout, making the space larger, more flexible, and open. Hall A1, the largest in the venue, will now serve as a traditional exhibition hall, while the former tent area will be relocated to the East Plaza and adjacent halls. Global brands like The North Face, Columbia, and VAUDE have adjusted their booths accordingly, while international names such as Dynafit and Carl Zeiss are returning.
The conference forum at the East Conference Center offers a platform for thought leadership and discussion on topics like digitalization, sustainability, and retail trends. China Outdoor Brand Alliance (COA) representatives will present the 2014 China Outdoor Market Survey, providing insights into the Chinese market's growth.
The European Outdoor Industry Awards celebrate their 10th anniversary this year, recognizing outstanding innovations across various categories, including apparel, footwear, camping gear, and sustainable design. Winners will be announced on July 15th, with all award-winning products displayed throughout the event.
Hall A2 serves as a trend forecasting space, showcasing upcoming styles, materials, and designs for 2016. Three daily fashion shows highlight must-have items, while advanced lighting and projection technology enhance the visual experience. Free brochures and lounge areas add to the immersive atmosphere.
Outdoor activities like bouldering competitions and water sports demonstrations will take place, offering visitors a dynamic experience. The European Outdoor Show Party on July 17th will feature music, food, and a special commemorative shirt, with free shuttle services available.
The event is open to professionals from July 15–18, with specific hours each day. For more information, visit www.outdoor-show.com, where you can download catalogs, schedules, and guides.
