The improper installation of electromagnetic flowmeter is mainly manifested in the following aspects:
Upstream disturbance sources and downstream disturbance sources. Upstream disturbance sources include spiral welded pipes and various types of flow obstruction fittings (such as elbows, reducers, branch pipes and valves). They are divided into two types according to the type of disturbance flow. The velocity distribution has distortion and secondary flow; in addition to the velocity distribution distortion and secondary flow, category 2 has vortices. Among the various types of pipe fittings, the most encountered are elbows and various elbow combinations (like flat double elbows and three-dimensional double elbows). Various flow meters have different sensitivity to upstream flow disturbances, so their respective installation requirements should be proposed. The downstream disturbance source is mainly the disturbance caused by the elbow pipe and valve to the fluid flow, which can be propagated retrospectively, which can affect the distance of several times the pipe diameter length. In most cases, 5 times the diameter of the downstream straight pipe section is sufficient; some special cases may be slightly longer, but it can be considered that the 10 times the diameter of the downstream straight pipe section can reliably cope with the disturbance caused by any downstream pipe fittings. If the length of the straight pipe section cannot meet the requirements and the measurement accuracy must be guaranteed, one of the following two alternative methods can be adopted
1) Calibrate under field installation conditions, or calibrate on the actual flow calibration device in the laboratory with the disturbance spoiler that is the same as the field installation conditions together with the instrument.
2) Install the flow regulator described in the following section upstream of the meter.
1. The gasket is eccentric (not aligned to the center). The sealing gasket is installed eccentrically, covering part of the flow area, making the speed distribution severely distorted and asymmetric. Because the asymmetric flow occurs at the inlet of the flow sensor, that is, the length of the upstream straight pipe section is zero, it will bring measurement errors to instruments such as differential pressure, turbine, vortex, ultrasonic, target, and electromagnetic instruments. For example, the DN50mm electromagnetic flowmeter liner has an eccentricity of 10mm, and the measurement error is as high as 4% to 10%.

3. The inner diameter Dg of the sealing gasket between the instrument and the pipe is smaller than the inner diameter Dp of the pipe and the inner diameter Dm of the instrument, and a beam flow is generated. Dg should be slightly larger than Dm, such as Dg
