Heavy metal wastewater purification technology developed successfully

Developed by China University of Geosciences (Beijing Institute of Materials Science and Engineering) using zeolite molecular sieves to purify heavy metal-containing wastewater and recover metals. In December 2003, a national invention patent was filed.
Zeolite molecular sieve purification of heavy metal-containing wastewater and recovery of metal technology 13X zeolite molecular sieve synthesized from natural minerals as raw materials, through adsorption-ion exchange, removal of heavy metal ions such as Cu, Pb, Zn, Hg, Ni, and Fe in wastewater to achieve purification of wastewater the goal of. The heavy metal ions adsorbed by the 13X zeolite molecular sieves are eluted with the formulated eluent, and the molecular sieves are reactivated and can be reused for many times. The heavy metal ions in the eluate are precipitated by adding a precipitating agent. After filtration, the components of the filtrate are similar to those of the original eluent and can be recycled. The precipitate is a metal sulfide, and the heavy metal elements can be recovered through high-temperature melting.
The technology is much cheaper than ordinary molecular sieves, and it is easy to operate, has low investment cost, has a large amount of wastewater to be treated, and has a fast operation speed. The treated wastewater completely meets the emission standards and can also recover heavy metals.
