Some common sense that should be understood for container transportation

Container transportation method:

(I) Container Yard/Container Yard (CY TO CY):

1. The shipper collects empty boxes, boxes, tally, seals, and is responsible for transporting the heavy boxes to the container yard designated by the carrier and assumes all costs and risks prior to this. All cargo declaration, cargo inspection and dangerous goods supervision shall be carried by the shipper himself and bear the cost.
2. The shipper also assumes the loss or damage of the contents contained in the box, as well as the responsibilities and risks arising from unclear cargo stowage and unclear cargo handling.
3. The carrier receives heavy boxes at the container yard and transports the heavy boxes to the container yard at the delivery location.
4. The consignee took the heavy container from the container yard at the delivery location and was responsible for the unpacking. After unpacking, the consignee delivered the empty container to the carrier’s designated site.

(2) Container Freight Station / Container Yard (CFS TO CY):

1. The shipper is responsible for transporting the goods to the carrier's designated container freight station and assumes all costs and risks before sending the goods to the container freight station. Customs declaration and cargo inspection should be carried out by the shipper himself and bear the cost.
2. The carrier picks up, tally, and packs containers at the container freight station where the port is loaded or received, and transports the heavy box to the container yard at the delivery location.
3. The consignee took the heavy container from the container yard at the delivery location and was responsible for the unpacking. After unpacking, the consignee delivered the empty container to the carrier’s designated site.

(3) Container Freight Station / Container Freight Station (CFS TO CFS):

1. The shipper is responsible for transporting the goods to the carrier's designated container freight station and assumes all costs and risks before sending the goods to the container freight station. Customs declaration and cargo inspection should be carried out by the shipper himself and bear the cost.
2. The carrier picks up, tally, and packs the container at the container loading station at the loading or receiving location and transports the goods as far away from the delivery location. The container freight station unpacks and delivers the goods to the consignee.

(iv) Container Yard / Container Freight Station (CY TO CFS):

1. The shipper collects empty boxes, boxes, tally, seals, and is responsible for transporting the heavy boxes to the container yard designated by the carrier and assumes all costs and risks prior to this. All cargo declaration, cargo inspection and dangerous goods supervision shall be carried by the shipper himself and bear the cost.
2. The shipper shall also assume the loss or damage of the contents contained in the box and the responsibilities and risks arising from improper stowage of the goods in the box and unclear tally.
3. The carrier accepts the heavy box at the container yard and undertakes to unpack the container freight station that transports the heavy box to the delivery location and delivers the goods to the consignee.

(e) EX DOOR shipped from the door

The carrier is responsible for arranging the trailer to empty the container to the shipper's designated factory or warehouse. The shipper will load the box within the specified time and deliver it to the carrier's original vehicle. All cargo declaration, cargo inspection and dangerous goods supervision shall be carried by the shipper himself and bear the cost.

(VI) DOOR DELIVERY

The carrier is responsible for the full carriage of the goods and arranges the trailer to drag the heavy boxes to the factory or warehouse designated by the shipper in the bill of lading. The consignee must empty the container within the specified time and the empty container should be brought back from the original trailer. The goods importer is responsible for the customs clearance of the goods.

Acceptance of goods:

(i) Acceptance of goods means that the shipper delivers the goods to the carrier's designated CY or CFS, and the carrier or his agent has issued a corresponding cargo receipt based on the condition of the goods, and the goods begin to be under the control of the carrier.

(b) The date on which the last item of the goods on the bill of lading was accepted for shipment by the carrier will be taken as the date of acceptance of the goods on the document.

(iii) In the case of a port CY or CFS delivery, the shipper must deliver the heavy tank to the carrier's designated yard or cargo terminal within a specified time prior to the scheduled arrival of the vessel. If the goods are delivered to the designated yard or freight station before the stipulated date of receipt by each port or the shipper requests delay of shipment or due to factors beyond the control of the carrier resulting in the vessel not arriving at the scheduled time, the carrier reserves the right to: :

1. LCL: The risks of storage, stacking and other expenses are borne by the shipper.

2. FCL: The costs and risks of storing the goods are borne by the shipper. In addition, the shipper must pay for the extended use of the container in accordance with the relevant provisions of the carrier.

Shipment information: Shippers provide detailed information for each shipment, including:

(1) The name of the goods, the loading and unloading of goods, the place of delivery, the mark, gross weight (kg), volume (three cubic meters in denomination), number of pieces, packaging, and FOB (refers to the ad valorem billing of goods), Freight payment methods, special cargo performance, refrigerated cargo temperature requirements, weight of each heavy piece (More than 5 metric tons per piece), size of the size, and oversized cargo.

(2) Container box type, box type, box volume, seal number, box number, package, weight (kg), volume (take three decimal places in cubic meters), weight of empty box (kg), gross weight of whole box (kg ), transportation methods, etc.

(iii) The carrier reserves the right to open the container for inspection of the cargo name, weight/size. In the event that the shipper is proven to have improper conduct, the inspection fee and any damage incurred as a direct result of the inspection shall be borne by the shipper.

(4) The shipper must declare accurately the consigned goods. The shipper bears any risks and liabilities caused by misrepresentation, intentional deception or concealment of the consignor's information. The shipper must also bear any additional costs incurred by the carrier.

Special odor goods: When there is a strong and difficult to eliminate odor cargo consignments, the shipper shall list its performance and characteristics on the consignment documents so as not to contaminate the containers and other cargoes.

Free samples: For samples without commercial value, the ship can be requested to ship for free, but the volume should not exceed 0.2 cubic meters and the weight should not exceed 50 kilograms. The carrier will issue only one original bill of lading and will not be liable for damages resulting from cargo damage.

Shipment of container:

(1) The owner-supplied container must conform to the International Organization for Standardization and safety standards in all aspects and is suitable for carrier's ship loading. The shipper must hold and provide the carrier with a valid certificate when necessary to prove that the container is suitable for the goods in all aspects.

(2) The shipper shall bring his own tank container, regardless of whether there is an agreement on the coefficient of liquid expansion between the carrier and the cargo carrier, the carrier may discharge the carrier from the tank in the event of danger or potential danger to the person or property arising from the liquid/gas. The carrier does not assume any responsibility for the prevention of any damage that must be discharged. The shipper will compensate the carrier for all costs and losses incurred in the free exercise of this right.
