Polyolefin transparent additives DBS, DTS

Dibenzylidene sorbitol (DBS) and di-(p-methyl)benzyl sorbitol (DTS) are the first plastic nucleating agents developed and produced by Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Institute in China. In the processing and processing industries, plastics, extrusion, injection molding or blow molding can be used to obtain transparent, rigid, heat-resistant sheets, films, plastic containers, equipment parts, beverage bottles, and packaging materials. A new type of additive with excellent performance can also be used as a compounding agent for paints, pigments, etc., as well as gels for environmental protection and cosmetics. DBS is used in various grades of polypropylene and polyethylene products to effectively reduce the haze of polypropylene sheet and linear low density polyethylene blown film and sheet, and to increase the strength and heat resistance temperature of polypropylene products. The product molding cycle is more than doubled, which can greatly improve the transparency of plastic products and improve the mechanical properties of plastic products. Plastic products are well colored and can enhance the vividness of the products. DTS is more effective than DBS in the transparency of plastic products. The technology was granted national invention patents, won the gold medal of the 8th China Patent Fair and won the National New Product Certificate of 1999.
