BASF releases new SBS plastics

BASF has developed a new class of engineering plastics--injection-grade styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS). Its trade name, Styrolux 3G33, has better transparency than conventional SBS plastics, even for thick-walled injection molded parts. Both the impact strength and the stiffness are improved, and the faster melt flow can ensure the processing cycle and larger output. Styrolux3G33 is mainly used for medical, display, daily packaging, toys and household items. According to the person in charge of the styrene material department of BASF, the new product Styrolux3G33 has better overall performance than PET, PVC or acrylic plastics and has a stronger market competitiveness.
