Identifying the printer's print tape with an electronic security label

Sokymat, a supplier of electronic tag transponders, has launched a new type of electronic tag developed by them. This new type of electronic tag can prevent the print belt of an advanced printer from being forged.

This electronic anti-counterfeit label is designed for advanced printers such as passports and security documents.

Valerie Maurin, Sokymat’s product sales manager, said that such advanced printers can also be used to print high-quality pharmaceutical instructions on pharmaceutical packaging and labels.

Sokymat's company in Switzerland has begun supplying this electronic label to printer manufacturers. It can be placed on the printer's print belt to prevent printers from buying printers with poor quality print cartridges. Sokymat spent six months researching and developing this electronic tag and launched it in February 2006.
Maurin said that the label is placed in the center of the print ribbon, making it very unlikely that it will be destroyed.
It is very difficult to produce this kind of label with traditional technology, so it is almost impossible to fake it.
The frequency of this tag is 13.56 MHz. Printers with a single reading template can easily identify genuine and pirated print cartridges.
This kind of electronic label has standard specifications and can also be produced according to the needs of customers. For example, a polyethylene compression ring label is produced according to customer requirements.

Sokymat has developed a very small flip chip stencil package called SK1. With SK1, antennas and loop tags can be connected together. SK1 made it possible for Sokymat to produce a thin and thin ring-shaped transponder. This transponder has a width of 10mm and a thickness of less than 1.2mm. Maurin said the traditional transponder specifications are 8mm x 5mm.
