Prepress output problems and solutions

(1) The font used in the output file, please confirm whether the output center, otherwise you need to carry the font or convert the text to a curve, Postscript native need to carry the dot matrix fonts, print fonts, easy to use. Please do not use the system provided fonts on the MAC, such as Kai, Hei, Song, Beijing, Fang song, so as not to cause output problems.

(2) In Photoshop, if the image is stored in TIFF format, please delete unnecessary channels and paths before storage. It is recommended not to store in LZW compression format. Please do not select the Include halftone and Include Trans-fer Function options when storing EPS images. If using DCS1.0, DCS2.0 or PSImage format, please prompt the output center.

(3) In the desktop publishing system, the gradual processing effect is not ideal. When the output format is large and the color span is large, there will be a jumping condition.

(4) If using vector graphics editing software such as CorelDRAW, Freehand, Illustrator, etc., if the font has no special effects processing, it is recommended to use as a curve or an outline, so as to ensure that there is no missing font in the output center. If you convert to a path or curve, it may cause aliasing on the screen display, but it does not affect the output.

(5) Spot color gradients in Illustrator and QuarkXPress files Printing PS files using composite colors is prone to errors. The output center should be prompted to output PS files in color separation mode. Composite printing is used for output, which can improve work efficiency, perform back-end color edition editing, and eliminate leaks. It has great flexibility; Separation printing has higher security, but at the expense of efficiency and flexibility.

(6) The word skipping phenomenon, there are two main reasons for the skipping phenomenon in the output: one is the position of the word is not re-adjusted after the font is replaced, and the other is the space between the word and the word. The only solution to the former case is to reposition the font after changing the font. For the latter case, there are two solutions: First, the word is divided into two parts, according to the original position; Another solution is to use the TureTYPE font, the word and map position is determined, the word transfer For the curve, but need attention, the spaces between the words must be English spaces.

(8) Founder Century RIP issued a word when it was issued. In the typesetting process of the Founder typesetting software, it is inevitable that there will be word-making. When you need to get the output center, simply rewind the *.PFI file under the directory to the directory of the PS you want to output, and then inform the output center that The RIP's complement path can be shot into this directory (Goodman RIP needs to convert it to TTE format in the PfiInsTT). Avoid the error that the output center recreates the words easily. In addition, each machine code (or area code) can be created in any type of font at the time of writing, so as to avoid wasting precious machine code.

(9) When the Founder typesetting software generates PS, the number of gradation levels must be greater than 256, otherwise the gradation has obvious steps, and the RIP setting does not work when output. After Wins and Feiteng put in the image file to generate the PS file, you must not change the picture information. If you change it, you must retype the generated PS file. Otherwise, the image will have unknown problems when it is output.

(10) The PAGEMAKER file must check the connection file before output, and update the connection information if there is any change. To ensure that the connection diagram is taken, the storage method with the connection file can be selected when the PAGE-MAKER file is stored.

(11) When the graphics are stored, check whether the color mode is CMYK mode to avoid color deviation due to color conversion when the file is output. When the RGB mode image in Pagemaker is pink, it will be output as a grayscale image.

(12) In T PHOTOSHOP, larger TIFF images (length direction greater than 8000 pixels) should be stored in EPS or DCS format to prevent image stretching when output after importing Pagemaker.

(13) PC version of PageMaker 6.Oc, 6.5C Chinese font used in the download for the map, easy to lose the word, text symbols take the place, more than 30 pounds of large characters with side teeth. In addition, in the 6.0 version, the rows of the screen displayed in the English rotation are disordered, but this does not affect the output. This problem has been resolved in the 6.5 version.

(14) Chinese characters in PageMaker should not use effects such as bold effects and underlining, otherwise problems may occur. Such as: use bold effect on the screen shows no problem, but when the font is greater than 14 pounds after the output has a significant tooth edge. The use of the underline effect is no problem in English but in Chinese there will be underline pressure words, the text use hollow effect should be center transparent, border around, but the center will not be transparent after output, use the shadow effect should be transparent, border For the word color, there are shadows underneath, and the center will not be transparent after the output. The italic effect will sometimes be incomplete or not italicized at all.

(15) PC machine entering text into PageMaker should delete the space, it is prone to garbled, PC fonts have version issues, easy to produce after the replacement of the artillery, missing,. Please indicate the output center, the font version number used. When the 46 versions of Hanyi Wenfang Sibao output, if the output center RIP installs a new 100 Hanyi font library, the space will appear before the word.

(16) Inserting the EPS format file in the PageMaker is easy to lose after being rotated. Please rotate or cut it in the production software and then insert the PageMaker software to make it.

(17) PageMaker's trapping options should be used with care, and a careful examination of the RI's interpretation indicates the effect. In QuarkXPress, there is an automatic setting of 0.144pt around the trap. The corresponding color text and white background will have traps, but the colored words will be enlarged with a 0.144pt border, which is the same as the text without the background color. Thickness. The solution is to select the trapping information in the monitor and select the trapping of the text as Knock out.

(18) Generally, the black color in the palette is set to 72pts or less, but for placed images (Grayscale TIFF and BitmapTIFF can be colored in typesetting film) and lines and more than 72pt. None of the text can be overprinted automatically. This is a need to add a new color, k100, to Overprint.

(19) Almost all images can be colored in both QuarkXPress and PageMaker, but the colored EPS and colored TIFF images will not affect the screen. When outputting, different components of the colors will be generated in the pink version. The effect, so do not color the color EPS and TIFF images in the software.

(20) When processing RGB color in CorelDraw, if the color print file is used, the color separation will have color shift. You can use color separation printing or manually convert the RGB image to CMYK mode in CorelDraw.

(21) In CorelDRAW 8.0, if the Chinese font is used in windows systems such as Songs, Songs, Blacks, and Carcasses, print the PS file after the curve is printed. Do not print the file information. Otherwise, the PS file cannot be interpreted.

(22) Using the PSD format in COrelDRAW The image output speed is extremely slow. Channels or rotations in version 8.0 can cause image defects and bitmaps should be converted in CorelDRAW

(23) If you use Grayscale magic TIFF map in CorelDRAW, this Grayscale magic TIFF map will automatically overprint, please convert this Grayscale mode image in Photoshop to CMYK mode and transfer its Grayscale content to K channel.

(24) Barcodes are inserted in the Core1DRAW8.0 software and are often 14-color after output. There are two ways to solve this problem: 1 Select the bar code copy, press 'Paste Special' to select 'Picture', and change the RGB color to K100. In this way, the bar code is only black. 2 Select the bar code and export the bar code to the AI ​​format. After the import, after adjustment, the bar code automatically changes to K100.

(25) Do not use paragraph text in COrelDRAW. Please change to art text or to curve, otherwise word dropping may occur.

(26) In CorelDRAW, you can use the shading and pattern attached to the software to fill in the graphics, or as a base map, please note: 1 Select the appropriate image resolution, usually 1.5-2.0 times the number of output lines, such as resolution Too low a rate will affect the accuracy of the image, too high will affect the output speed. 2 The selected base map should pay attention to whether its attribute is CMYK mode, and the base map shading normally filled is an RGB mode, which should be changed to a four-color mode.

(27) If you use CorelDRAW to do business, if there is a large amount of data in the file, there are many graphics in the file. It is better to combine several small versions of the base map into one, to reduce the amount of information in the file, increase the output speed, pay attention to the text Do not convert to bitmaps (especially small prints). If the text is converted to a bitmap, it will affect the accuracy of the output.

(28) In COrelDRAW 6.0, there are two commonly used PANTONE colors: PAN-TONE? Special color and PANTONE? printing color. The former can be used as a spot color, and the latter will be automatically converted to CMYK mode output when output, instead of being output as a spot color version.

(29) In COrelDRAW 6.0 and 8.0, the profile property in the graphic properties should not be selected as "Scale by Image" (COrelDRAW 9.0 is called "Contour with Image Scale"). Otherwise, the profile deformation will occur.

(30) When CorelDRAW uses the composite color method to print PS files, the "gray driver bitmap output" option must be set to send a color send color bitmap in the special shot in the option, otherwise all the colors in the file The bitmap will become a grayscale image; crop marks will be output in CMYK, otherwise the corner and symbol word lines will be only black, but this option has no effect on spot color versions.
