China's renewable energy use is booming

It was learned from the China Rural Energy Industry Association that progress has been made in the development and utilization of renewable energy in China in recent years. It has been estimated that by promoting the use of renewable clean energy and energy-saving products, annual savings and substitution of 7.68 million tons of standard coal can be achieved, with a reduction of 19.34 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, 77,000 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, and 130,000 tons of dust emissions.

Renewable resources such as solar energy and biomass energy have no or little pollution to the environment. They are both urgently needed supplementary energy and the basis for future energy. According to statistics, by the end of 2000, the country had 26 million square meters of solar water heaters, ranking first in the world; annual production of 2.711 billion cubic meters of methane, 150 million cubic meters of straw gasification, and utilization of more than 80,000 tons of straw. . At the same time, small fans, small optoelectronics, and new types of liquid fuels have made great progress.

To further promote the use of renewable energy, the China Rural Energy Industry Association will hold a China Renewable Energy and Energy Saving Products and Technology Expo in Beijing in the near future. The current preparations are in place.
